Interpretation
55 Interpretation
In essence, interpretation is storytelling: the process of revealing the significance of a place of interest to visitors – both young and old. So it’s much more than just information, orientation and signposting. It’s an opportunity to demonstrate the intrinsic local identity and fascination of the site. At its most successful, it blends naturally with its surroundings while still demanding attention and inviting participation.
The techniques we use include large-format graphics and tactile, three-dimensional models, plus audio-visual displays and other media. All with one thing in common: they must be a delight to behold. And that’s not open to interpretation. |
