On a mission…

In 1981 (at nine years old) I entered a Blue Peter competition to design a postage stamp. I didn't win first place, but I was a top 50 runner-up, so I got the badge and letter. The thrill of that achievement has always been with me. I still get the same thrill from my day-to-day role now. Some you win, some you lose, but using creativity to transform a written brief into powerful piece of communication - odd that maybe - makes my job worthwhile.

After graduating from Falmouth School of Art in 1992, I spent the next nine years working in the design and advertising industry. In 2001 I called time on the capital and set up 55 Design Ltd with a mission: to bring a much-needed, new level of flair, responsiveness and value for money to the industry. Before long, 55 had established a client-base that included household names like The Guiness Book of Records, British Waterways and The National Archives. I’ve never looked back.
